2017 Mission Trip to UMCOR SAGER-BROWN

April 2 – 7, 2017  —  Eight spaces open

This is a great mission trip for those who have hearts that say YES, but are not sure if the body will cooperate!  Sager-Brown is the site for the UMCOR Depot.  Planned during our time of serving is serving at the Depot, home repairs in the community, sewing ministry, food ministry and other areas needing our hands.  Cost is about $300 per person with some out of pocket expenses such as meals out and travel.  What a great way to learn about the ministry the UMC has through UMCOR Sager-Brown.  Besides, it is a great way to travel with a purpose, see new country, meet new peole, serve and have a great time!  See for yourself.
Search youtube.com for sager brown for a variety of short videos.  Also visit www.sagerbrown.com

To reserve your space, contact Jan Archey at archeyjan@gmail.com to receive an application.  Your completed application and $100 deposit reserves your space.  Don’t wait!  This trip will fill up!

IN ADDITION…

St. Paul’s has a world-wide missions outreach through our United Methodist Committee on Relief, our Global Missions Board, and other Christian ministries like Heifer International. Learn more by attending our Global Missions committee meeting.

Global Missions’ goal is to take the love of Jesus Christ beyond the city limits.  We are organized through a Global Missions Team that meets 4-6 times a year and any interested person may participate on this team.  We have a core team of dedicated and gifted volunteers who head up repairs and we have a large number of volunteers who help with fun-d raising and other tasks as needed.   Our group is very open to new volunteers.

Upcoming opportunities to volunteer include helping re-roof a mobile home in Dona Ana County.  Hopefully that will begin soon.  Global Missions has been very active in the rural community of Fabens, TX.  This past year, we have repaired five migrant homes.  We work with the United Methodist Churches in Clint and Fabens and this summer, our group will remodel a room in the Fabens church that will turn into a shower room for mission teams to use.  In April 2017, St. Paul’s Global Missions will sponsor a work team to serve at UMCOR Sager-Brown in Baldwin, LA.  There will be a variety of ways one may volunteer. Organizational meetings will begin this fall as we build our team.  Another area where Global Missions serves is at our church camp in the Sacramento Mountains.  Recently a men’s construction team traveled to Sacramento, NM and worked on remodeling a cabin.

Globally, Global Missions supports two United Methodist missionaries.  Martin Reeves is serving in Peru and Greg Henneman is serving in the inner city of Columbus OH.  Please support them with your prayers.

In early summer, Global Missions will sponsor a potluck meeting.  There one can learn more about opportunities to serve through Global Missions.  We’d love to have you join us!  Watch for details!
